The Robert Half Healthcare Practice is working with a healthcare organization in the Indianapolis area to add a Patient Registration Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service and a strong attention to detail.

Hours: Monday-Fri, 8a-4:30p (CTH)

Responsibilities for the position include the following:

• Manages patient flow: Ensures patients move through the facility efficiently and professionally, from arrival to their designated area.

• Registers patients: Gathers patient information to create accurate medical and financial records, crucial for billing and treatment.

• Schedules appointments and explains billing: Schedules appointments, and informs patients about charges and hospital policies.

• Processes payments: Validates charges, enters them into the system, and collects patient payments.

• Answers inquiries: Directs patients and visitors to appropriate locations and answers phone calls.

  Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the AHA preferred

• 1-2 years of relevant experience in a health care setting preferred

• Ability to learn medical coding; ICD-10; CPT coding experience preferred

• Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred

• Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
